I am Brian Hector, the owner of Thorian Framing. After many years’ experience in framing, I came to a crossroads in my career when redundancy loomed. Rather than go back into employment I took the opportunity to step out on my own and so, in 2014, Thorian Framing was launched.

Right from the start, I focused on offering a high-end, bespoke framing service and wanted something different to the run of the mill framing business names such as the location name, framer’s name and general framing terms. So, I chose a combination of my first and last names to create Thorian.

I combine my framing skills and experience with a professional personal consultation, where I will advise on all elements of how best to frame, protect and preserve your items, including recommendations on design, colour, appropriate materials, and glazing.

In my 20+ years in framing I have had the opportunity to frame a diverse range of items from medals to photographs; paintings to clothing; sporting items to rare prints, and pretty much everything in between. One of the more unusual items was a canvas destination sign that used to be on the front of an old bus (when they used to have the sign that wound around to the destination.

Another memorable project was a selection of tiles that were from a parents’ old kitchen that was being re-designed so had sentimental value and were framed to make a feature piece in the new kitchen.
